The day began at Bastille’s studio, where we were hosted by Kyle Simmons, keyboardist for the band. Kyle gave the group a tour of the space, shared how the band works in the studio, and took time to answer questions about what it takes to make it as a professional musician.
In the afternoon, we visited Blackstar Agency, a leading music marketing company. Their team gave a practical and engaging session on how artists can build their brand, understand their audience and promote their music by utilising digital and traditional marketing methods. Topics included how to use social media with purpose, how to communicate a clear identity as an artist.
The group also walked away with some great freebies from the team, which was an amazing bonus!
