This October, young musicians from across the UK came together for two inspiring days of music-making at the Big Meet. The events, Big Meet North and Big Meet South, brought together young musicians for collaborative workshops, performances, and discussions about their musical journeys.

Big Meet North took place at the Royal Northern College of Music, where musicians from across the North, including many from our partners at South Asian Arts UK, joined forces under the expert guidance of Gemma Bass. Throughout the day, participants explored new musical ideas and collaborated in creative ensembles. The day ended with a group sharing session, giving parents the opportunity to see the incredible progress and performances of these young musicians. Congratulations to all who took part.
Big Meet South welcomed our new Future Talent cohort for their first gathering at Trinity Laban in Greenwich, London. Led by acclaimed pianist Harry Baker, musicians spent the day diving into jazz standards in small groups, sharing their musical aspirations, and discussing how Future Talent can support them on their journey. The sessions also provided a safe space to talk openly about challenges they face, from building confidence and skills to the financial barriers of pursuing a music career. Like their northern counterparts, the day ended with a sharing session for parents, celebrating the creativity and dedication of these young artists.
