Carlotta, a 18-year-old violist and singer, composed “Evie” as an homage to her dog. A music scholar at Marlborough College, she attends the Junior Royal Academy of Music and has performed as lead viola with the National Children’s Orchestra. “My dog Evie was the inspiration for this piece. The lively melody reflects her playful nature, while the waltz section emulates her slow, relaxed walks around the house after a long day,” Carlotta says. Her composition, originally for four violins but later arranged for string quartet, reflects her unique blend of personal inspiration and technical skill, supported by mentors and peers from Future Talent.
